The TDO Sahara is a convection oven for rapid and gentle deparaffinization and drying of slides in the laboratory.
From the outside, the TDO Sahara offers a full frontal view into the drying chamber through the generous glass window. This gives the user full control of the current state of the slide inside at all times. A magnetic locking mechanism ensures that hot air stays in the unit. This way the temperature remains stable and energy consumption is not
unnecessarily increased.
The TDO Sahara heats up to operating temperature in about a minute. The drying times are set using a touch control element. The user can choose between a selected drying time or continuous operation, which is especially useful when processing a large number of samples. Each specified drying cycle is followed by a cooling phase. Routine slide drying usually takes only a few minutes.
The drying chamber accommodates up to 48 baskets of 30 microscope slides divided between two stainless steel grids. At the bottom of the drying chamber is a drip tray for safe collection of dripping kerosene or other liquids. Both the grids and the drip tray can be easily removed for cleaning In addition to the magnetic locking mechanism that prevents vapors from escaping to the outside, an activated carbon filter helps reduce contamination of laboratory air by solvent vapors that may occur during operation in the drying chamber.
