SPS products has three microtomes in its product range; the manual (M380), a semi-automatic (M530) and a fully automatic (A550). The manual microtome requires no power and can therefore be set up flexibly at any workstation. Vertical cutting movement is done manually using a light running handwheel.
In the semi-automatic microtome (M530), the horizontal feed and retraction is motorized while the vertical cutting stroke is performed manually using a smooth-running handwheel. This allows sensitive cutting, controlled by the specialist.
The fully automatic microtome (A550) is the premium model in which both the horizontal on-and-off stroke and the vertical cutting stroke are motorized. This means physical relief for the user during intensive, long-term use. Alternatively, the cutting stroke can also be performed manually using the smooth-running handwheel if, for example, sensitive cuts are required.
