Cutting tables with future vision
At the end of December 2022, we received the redeeming call: SPS Products was allowed to execute the extensive project for the OLVG in Amsterdam. The order included the supply and installation of nine excision tables and one sip cup cabinet. The biggest challenge? A tight deadline of less than four months to complete the entire process from design to installation. Thanks to intensive cooperation and dedication, we succeeded.
Innovative and ergonomic design
The cutting tables are equipped with a height adjustment of 400 mm, allowing both sitting and standing work. An integrated laminar airflow ensures that formaldehyde concentrations remain well below limit values, contributing to a safe working environment. The tables are placed in two blocks of four, each with two tables next to and two behind each other. Behind the tables is a technical wall in which all piping is neatly concealed.
Fully equipped
Each table features:
- Hot and cold water faucet
- A sink
- Various drawers for storage
- Holders for monitor and keyboard
- A glove holder
- A suspension system for a camera
- An edge rinse that automatically cleans the cutting section
- A special outlet section for a cassette printer
- A drawer unit between the tables for extra storage space
- A superstructure with light bar for optimal lighting
Prepared for the future
A special aspect of this project is that the tables were temporarily installed in a rented location. The OLVG is currently constructing a new laboratory building that will permanently house the pathology department. In the foreseeable future, the current tables will be dismantled, moved and reinstalled at the new location.
With this project, SPS Products once again demonstrates its ability to successfully execute complex and time-critical assignments, with an eye for detail, safety and future-proofing.
